Abstract:Studies have shown that estrogen plays a role in the four healing stages of hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. It can regulate immune cells, fibroblasts, keratinocytes and other cells involved in healing through a variety of signaling pathways, reduce inflammatory response, promote cell proliferation and migration, regulate collagen synthesis and degradation, and accelerate wound healing. Topical application of estrogen or similar compounds has shown the potential to promote wound healing in animal experiments, but more research is needed to verify its efficacy and safety in clinical practice. The regulatory mechanism of estrogen on wound healing is complex, which needs further research.
