Abstract:As injection of hyaluronic acid has become increasingly popular, more complications, especially intravascular embolisms, have been reported in the recent years. Hyaluronidase, as specific hydrolase, have been proposed to treat such horrific adverse events. To further understand the nature and application of this enzyme, the biochemistries, clinical applications, especially in the treatment of hyaluronic acid induced complications, and adverse reactions were reviewed.
