By changing the radio of C2H6/O2, the percentage of N2 and total flow rate, the property of shortcontacttime reforming (SCTR) in a millionseconds was investigated. In addition, direct and indirect oxidation models were discussed by checking the temperature layout in the catalyst monolith. The results show that when enhancing C2H6/O2 ratio and N2 dilution ratio, the selectivity of C2H4 increases (up to 70%) and selectivity of CO and H2 decreases. The contact time affects the selectivity of the products from ethane oxidation, the selectivity of synthesis gas reaches maximum (S(H2)=40%,S(CO)=75%) at the flow rate of 4 L/min. The experimental results prove that SCTR is a combination of homogeneous and heterogeneous reaction.
