The School of Ocean and Civil Engineering successfully organized a cross-cultural exchange activity on December 10th, leading a group of students to visit the East Building of the Shanghai Museum.
The visit centered on the unique cultural significance of bronze ware, which serves as a carrier for the dual core of Chinese science, technology, and spiritual belief. Through the lenses of chronological progression, functional usage, and craftsmanship, the exhibition chronicled the continuous development of copper wares from the Song to the Qing dynasties. It highlighted the new connotations endowed upon these artifacts by changing eras, reflecting the aesthetic pursuit and innovative spirit of "learning from the past without being constrained by it."

Themed around the revival and innovation of bronze wares during the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, the exhibition featured collections from prestigious museums worldwide. By narrating the historical evolution of these artifacts, the event not only enhanced the understanding of Chinese traditional culture among both Chinese and international students but also interpreted the Chinese nation's perspective on tradition and transformation from a historical vantage point.
